There’s nothing better than welcoming our students back for another amazing year! Our incredible staff, families, and community partners helped us ring in the new year. We continuously evaluate our security practices and proactively look for additional measures to ensure a safe and secure environment. As we start the new school year, these measures align with our ongoing commitment to your safety and well-being and are designed to provide a secure and protected environment for all.

Before students step onto a bus for the 2026-27 school year, more than 600 Columbus City Schools transportation professionals gathered for hands-on emergency preparedness and safety training. Through the District’s partnership with the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio School Safety Center, drivers, aides, staff, and leaders practiced responding to serious situations with confidence, calm, and care.
